I think I'd match the light color in the pattern and go a few shades lighter for the wall color.

It sure looks blue in the picture, but it would be very pretty in black too. I always thought I'd want a patterned carpet, but never did. But yes, I would agree with a our last sentence. Sounds perfect.

go with a mellow yellow in the same color family as in the carpet. I think the cherry or a dark mahogany would be best for the furniture
