Reupholstering Chairs-need ideas
I got two of these Kravet chairs for a steal at $200 for the pair. They had skirts, which I removed and added a braided trim around the edge to hide the slight fray of the cord. I had planned to just use them as is, but a busted pipe necessitated the remodel of our entire first floor and in the process, I changed the wall color from a birch color to Anew Gray by Sherwin Williams at 150%. The goldish chairs do not match now! I had planned to get them recovered anyway, but this has forced the issue. I would love a print, but since recovering is expensive, I will probably go with a neutral solid color with a texture and add color with pillows. The other furniture in the room will be a leather sofa and loveseat in a very dark brown, almost black color and then a mixture of wood finished on the tables. The curtains will be a lattice print that is dark gray and off white. I can't get the pic to load. Ignore the wall color and carpet color in the chair pic. That has been redone and the carpet is more grayish beige.
I don't have other pictures as the house is still in the process of being redone. Ideas on fabric choices?

11 years agoAre the chairs pictured in the room they will remain in? If so, are your pictures with the new color and are you keeping the curtains? I think a gray fabric with colors that add warmth (like these) would look phenomenal. Especially if your carpet is tan. I would remove the curtains though. :) Try something less shiney orange.
11 years agolast modified: 11 years agoWith your new color scheme, perhaps a light cream would work and you won't get tired of. Bring home lots of samples, as it's not easy to imagine what they will look like. Would also suggest before searching for fabric, to get some quotes on the reupholstering if you haven't already. Prices vary, but I live in Toronto and used a retired person and my chairs cost $300 each + cost of fabric. Hope this helps., as sometimes you can find new chairs for $400 and know what they look like. Good luck.

Maybe not that far out of it but you get the idea.
Start with a mustard chenille on the chair then have some fun with the legs and trim.
