Need help with getting a fabulous paint color!

I'm not thinking this dark brown is fabulous in the small foyer I have. The painter never prepped the trim right so it has to be redone by someone new and while there at it I might as well get the right awesome color for foyer? Please help with which color would make it look amazing like a magazine?

I would paint the wainscoting all white ( the bottom half ) regardless of what color you choose for the upper part.

You could go a rich plum and add a complimentary rug.

If you want something to really wow you how about wallpaper? You could use a paper that has the color of the next area in it. You could even carry it into your niche.

Interesting color you picked Mark because in the next room I will be having my blackjack table which has a purple top to it and I was thinking about tying in dark purple drapes. If I thought about doing the foyer a bold color like that I might have to go more towards a darker purple?

The colors are off in the undertones and it begins to look "dirty".

Part of a foyer's purpose is to set expectations for the adjoining spaces, so that purple/plum idea might work well for you.

The paint color looks black on my screen and is echoed by the stair banister. I like it. Dramatic yet classic.

Mark, what color was that plum paint color? It is kinda nice but then again the purple in the casino table is completely different from it and the drapes are dark purple. I was originally going to do white paint from the middle down but i wanted fancy and dressy and not sure which way looks dressier

try painting the bottom half in the white trim color to brighten it up.

If you are looking for something closer to the casino table then try Benjamin Moore Exotic Purple .

It will take on a different shade at different times of the day and when lighting shines on it. I wouldn't be too concerned about matching the table. Different shades of Plum/purple will compliment one another.
