May I please see pictures or hear how you handled the bulky threshold for Pella patio out-swing doors?

We had them installed and the threshold is huge, ugly, and bulky. Due to the wind code requirements it is tall and there is an oak strip in the middle then the lower part that transitions into the room is an ugly black strip and after finishing the floors yet another oak strip. It is just hideous looking. For those of you with Pella patio doors, how did you handle the threshold?
