How To Install Pendants Over Island Height and Width-Wise?

I am seeking help on how high to install my 2 pendants over a 60" wide x 36"' deep island. The pendants are each 9" diameter by 6" tall. I will show a photo of pendant from online and I took pictures of my island. You will see my husband taped up "mock ups" although not so pretty looking they give an idea as to how big they will be. Our ceilings are 94" high. One mock up is at 12" from ceiling and the other is at 18" from the ceiling. I think the one at 18" looks better. I am not sure how to center them either. Currently electrician has circles to install them about 17" it looks like from each edge. I have 15" drawers on one side of island with a bank of 30" drawers in middle so that was guide I think.

Hold up, I made mistake on size of pendants, they are 6" in diameter and 9" high. I wrote the reverse originally. Thanks.

Rule of thumb is between 30"-36" above the countertop (depending on how tall you are and what is comfortable) and about

15" in from each end so if someone is leaning or working there, they are not in their face. You can center them over the island depth.

We used 3 lights here.

When you say 15" from each end, do you mean from very edge of granite as that hangs over about an inch I think on each side OR is it 15" in from the end of the cabinetry?

From the countertop edge. And 18" is fine if that looks better to you. You also only have 2 pendants and I used 3 here so 18" in may look better spaced. 15" would be a minimum so you don't hit you head on them.
