Since you have matching end tables, matching lamps and saturated color in the space. I vote a college of art prints in black and white. A "random" arrangement would break up the "pairs" and also balance the color.

I agree with Darzy. Black and white art prints or family photo's arranged 'randomly' will break the monotony , balance the color and give some character to your living room.

there are many sites now that actually put your photos on metal, canvas or even glass, I like the last. and there instructions online how to float them. If you have no art you want, new style is hanging picture frames, but art, I think is always better.

There are so many options! We can see where you could be stuck. Two large pieces of art was a great suggestion! You could even do three large ones side by side. For something more bold, the wall collage is a great suggestion too! You can mix and match each frame and even add a hanging letter of your family's name. In the collage you could frame sentimental things, like keys from your first home, apartment, etc. Here are a few articles we have found for this:

ok, 2 schools or thought, one is designer inspired based on balance and measurement. It should be as Rina says. I come from more of an artist take, I say fill that wall baby!!!!

I think the entire wall would be too much. I have woodcarvings my father-in-law made (he was a professional and sold around the world), and I sometimes feel overwhelmed with the sheer number of them. It would be nice to have more "white space" on my walls to give my eye some place to rest. I like the collages with photos, art pieces, framed letters, etc. like the first photo Nearly Natural sent. I don't particularly like framed sayings like the one in her photo though. But, that's just a personal preference.

A collage would be fun! Love the wall color. An empty picture frame collage would be lovely!

I know you only asked about the wall, but I see several things that could make the room nicer at low/no cost. Your lamps are so dark (could you paint them?). And, I think they should be farther back onto the end tables...they're too close to the couch. (And, straighten the shades, OK?) ;)

If this is the first thing people see when you enter your home, I would get a nice basket for the magazines instead of a pile on the floor. Turn the photo on the right-side table so you don't see the frame stand.

The painting on the left end table would be nice as part of your collage. As for part of your collage, I think this is pretty cute and could be easily done:
