Curtain advice

The orange wall with the 2 large windows needs curtains. The other 3 walls are pictured. The plain grey wall will soon be covered by white built ins with cabinets at the bottom and shelving up top that shows the grey. The TV will be mounted above the fireplace. The furniture pictured will be 86d

I see there is another room beyond the orange wall. If you want to keep that sunlight passing through I would suggest white cotton/poly sheers (or linen if you don't mind some wrinkle). They will soften all the hard lines of the door and windows, and still let light come into your room. It will also make the room brighter, and tie in with your white built-ins on the grey wall.

You've chosen an amazing wall covering on your pony wall, so I would caution another bold pattern on the window panels. If you are interested in a pattern, I would recommend a small scale, organic pattern to complement the geometric pattern on the wall.

Thank you both. White sheers were actually what I already ordered; however, the grommets were bronze not silver as advertised so I sent them back. I was afraid the wall may look too plain in comparison to the others, so I began second guessing. Thank you for your comments.

I see we are all on the same page :) I wouldn't worry about it sheers looking plain because you already have focal points on the other two walls. I hope you'll share a photo with us once you hang the sheers!

I prefer a white linen. And if you are afraid of being too plain you can add a trim to the leading edge. if you are not going custom, adding trim is easy to do to ready made panels. And if your rods are expandable, I would extend them at least a couple inches on either side of your windows.

White! Have you considered painting the back of your front door? Maybe the orange one shade darker? Or a darker shade of your grey on all interior doors?

I see that many of us have the same idea; as soon as I saw the picture I thought sheers. If you are considering something stationary that just frames the sides of the windows there are many soft orange colored fabrics available now also. Good luck with this project,

I agree with sheers and extending the rod length on both sides. Plus, bring in some of that vibrant orange to your sofas with accent pillows and maybe a light colored throw. Good luck and have fun - I admire your taking a chance, it's working!

White sheer or semi-sheer panels, and band them with a gray that matches the color of your gray wallpaper. It will provide a custom look for just a few dollars of trim, and a fairly modest labor charge (or if you're handy, sew on the trim yourself.) I'd avoid grommets if you can and just use rings with clips to hang the panels. Just a personal preference but I think it looks a little more classic than grommets.

You could also continue the lovely moroccan pattern but swap the white on gray, to gray on white! =) But the sheers are likely the best way to go (just with the pattern, if you want more movement) And you could always use clip-rings to get the brushed silver colour you want!

And we spoke of painting the doors grey while leaving the paneling inside white. I love the idea of the clip ons for the sheers!

Just had to comment---love the orange---I had a bathroom I painted that ---I hated to leave it when we were forced to move---it always cheered me up. Great job!

I would not do a picture frame edging on the sheer curtains. I would put 3 horizontal rows of a more narrow nature of the same color gray as the bold pattern. Or I would put 2 gray and an orange stripe in the middle, tying in both colors.
