Living room design advice

I'm sure my living room is a missed opportunity but I don't really know how to change. I have a large red sofa and large dining room table. maybe it's too big for the room?.... wondering whether to move the tv to the centre of the room. it may be part blocking some light where it is now. what could I do with the wall behind the sofa...new colour?... whole room is almond white

thanks
mark

The sofas placement is all wrong under the stairwell, put the TV under there, it makes more sense for a couple of reasons (glare from window & space). Put a nice large accent rug under the dining table and chairs. Do you like the sofas? If not, replace them. Artwork needs better placement too.

You have to decide on the colors you want for the room: wall, furniture, rugs, throw pillows and art work. They all need to be tied together for a more homey look.

I think you have too much furniture for a small room. Can you show more pics from different angles?

I really like the idea of the tv under the stairs if it works.

OK, I think I've got the layout of your space (more or less). Your sofa may be too bulky for this and the space too small, but try the TV under the stair, sofa facing it and floating in the room so the door opens behind it, and the dining area in front of the sliding doors.

Your TV stand is too small for your TV. It should be at least 25% longer, more if possible. I like the Ikea Ramsatra and think it would look good in this space.

HI -- This looks like this is in Britain . Yes your furniture is too big and there is too much . Yes , put the TV under the stairs -- put the dining table at the patio doors and the sofa on the wall across from the TV . If you find a piece of furniture for the TV or any other storage system for that area then a lot of the small furniture pieces can be taken out . In a small room , less is more .

Agree with many others. Dining table in front of sliding door, sofa where the dining table is, tv under the stairs, rug inbetween sofa and TV. You may be able to keep one of the chairs where it already is, if there is room, otherwise, ditch the chairs. You don't have room.

All your art is hung too high, plus you need a better plan for it. Right now it looks like you just hung it wherever there happened to be a nail in the wall. ;-)

I just Photoshopped it, mark. Most people have to see it to "get" it, so I do visuals of my ideas.
