I would call it a tri-level which was popular in the 60's.

I see the similarity to some tri-level's but its a straight two story. Larger first floor, smaller second.

My house is very similar. I've heard it referred both as a garrison house and colonial.

I'm a Californian. I'd call it a Tri-Level. I don't think it looks Colonial at all, in the traditional sense of the word.

If it's only 2 levels, it's not a tri-level. Tri means "three". It appears to be a colonial.

According to Lester Walker's book "American Shelter" it would be called "Neocolonial".

Interesting and thanks. The second story definitely has an overhang in the back of the house which is akin to the Garrison style but not the front, with its large porch. This is what makes it off to me as it is almost bungalow style in the front because of this. Maybe that's where the Garrison Colonial style comes into play. I'm certainly leaning in that direction at the moment.

I agree that it is definitely not colonial in the traditional sense though and also not a tri-level in the two level sense.
