1. No matter what choice I make it will be horribly dated in 10 years ( ridiculed in 20 )

2. Regardless of what I'd like to think I'm influenced by short and long term trends

no matter what color your carpet and drapes are, someone will insist you should paint the walls grey. probably revere pewter.

As soon as I discover revere pewter and have hope of not having taupe walls, I discover designers now are sick of it... Ditto on my beloved subway tile with dark grout plans.

There are a lot of witty, design-savvy ladies out there in the Houzz community who share my love of white trim, grey walls, white subway tiles, white shaker kitchen cabinets, Carrera marble, hardwood flooring and throw pillows.
