"The bottom sill of egress windows shall be no more than 44 inches
above the finished floor height. Egress windows shall have a clear
opening, measured when the operable part of the window is completely
open, of 5.7 square feet and meeting the following minimum dimensions."

There is another option, possibly. You could dig down the foundation and open it up to make a door, sublevel patio concept with stairs taking you up out of the well.

I understand all that but I'm just wondering if they would make us put the window in the playroom. I know if it's a bedroom you need a window. Which, we can't add it to that side that's why I ask. I want to add it to the already finished side if they are able to work on an already finished area.

Check with your local city hall building dept. I think you can do a playroom without a window, but would check on it.

You will need to see what your local inspection department interpretation is. The code actually says 'sleeping room' not bedroom.
