What a fascinating project. I'm not familiar with the QAYG process at all. I love your colors and fabrics and the HSTs that appear to be made with strips (or maybe just striped fabric, I can't tell). The quilting is very cool too. I can't wait to see it all put together. Thanks for posting your progress.

I like the way the diagonal carries across the quilt.

Lovely, interested in seeing it put together. QAYG is something I wish I could do better. Did one with a Georgia Bonesteel patterns a long time ago, hand quilted the sq's. but decided it was too difficult at the time to try again. I have studied other techniques since but have never tried. Your quilt is very nice and should be beautiful when finished.

The blocks are all sewn/quilted individually by machine; once done, you add the sashing that puts it all together, add the binding, and your quilt is finished. I'll take a pic of some with the sashing on tomorrow in better light.

Beautiful quilt! The design is very unique--is it a pattern, or did you create the design yourself? I've made a lot of QAYG quilts, and that is the easiest way to make a large quilt.

Here is a pic of the section started with sashing. Showing you a couple of individual block so you actually see them better. It's not a pattern, just a few blocks that our instructor gave us to do, and the rest, I just googled cartoon pictures and used those to make some of my blocks. The last block shown is my favorite I think.

The colors are off in the last pic, with sashing. The top 2 rows are showing too dark and the last one too light. The individual blocks are quite accurate.
