My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

NEED the DREAM TEAM for my New home!

I'm a mama of two DARLING kiddos, one with Autism (and this is relative to my design world b/c fabrics must be WASHABLE or WIPEABLE and storage with doors or cover is IMPERATIVE!!!) I also have my parents living with my family ... and my husband's job relocated us from my VERY favorite home EVAH!!! Very sad :-(

So, need help in almost every room. Moving from 3800 sft to a home with 5000+ sft. The home is a foreclosure, but is the most beautiful home...with amazing finishes everywhere. Scalamandre wallpapers throughout and more...

I have a budget of $10k to get my aesthetics complete, the rest needs to go to windows/doors and maintenance that needs to be done. I have a great selection of neutral and easily changed/modified furniture and accessories (some from my time in france ... antiques and more), etc., and am also very good with sewing and reupholstering. I have an embroidery/monogramming business and also a good professional machine for doing some of the work myself.

Just need good help using my existing goodies to make the house work. BUT...10k is not that much when I have to buy stuff and get it done. Plus, my son's therapies cost soooooooo much I had to beg for the 10k for pretty-fying my house!!!

Once I get MY computer back from my son (watching Curious George...might be dangerous to try and take it away right now) I will post photos of my house now and my new house. This will help to see this can be a super fun project.

i'm a good sport and like to laugh at myself (and others) and would love a dream team to help me out!!!

    Thank you Molly. I would never have believed this could be my house either. God has blessed me with so much. I have my challenges, but I do know I'm blessed. ;-)

      I will. I almost called you earlier today. Unfortunately I have a WICKED cold/flu and am supposed to be presenting at an international conference in Orlando on Thursday. Not sure I'm going to get it all in...ugggh. Our estimated moving date is Feb 28-Mar 1...and we are in need of flooring on the upper level (didnt include that in my budget btw....) We would like to do hardwood or a hard surface...but we are on a budget.

      Oh! You posted before about this gorgeous scalamandre wallpaper. I remember now. Wow, that gorgeous place was in foreclosure? Lucky you! You have fabulous space!

      It was...and get this...the realtor and MANY others that saw the house commented on the hideous wallpaper. I walked in (b/c the photos werent great) and my jaw dropped. I said to the realtor, I would SERIOUSLY CRY if someone else gets this house and takes down this paper. Over 10k in paper lost....that would be a shame. Anyway....it keeps going. The downstairs powder room, the kitchen and more. I'll post some additional photos.

      The room with the black/white marble flooring.....beautiful. You've lucked out. I too would hate to see a lovely paper taken out.

      elwm...if you mean to paint any room other than the black floral wallpaper room, walk away. Not my style. This is not a modern, pottery barn knock-off house. OK?! If that isn't what you meant, then please stay and help. B/c I want this to be a very special house...chinoiserie style is not for everyone, but this house can be amazing.

      THe black and white floor is the sitting/eat-in area of the kitchen. I'll post a photo of the opposite direction of the kitchen. ;-)

      Dining room paper is not formal enough for the rest of the house. Also do not like the red wallpaper in the room with the balcony too busy. Can be more dramatic if subtle

      Look up Scalamandre. Also google Dorothy Draper and Chinoiserie style. Busy can be beautiful when done right. With the rooms empty, the style is empty and overwhelming. Once it is all pulled together it is beautiful, timeless...classic. ;-)

      This house is MAGNIFICENT!!! I see why someone would go bankrupt after building such a home ;) seriously speaking the only thing i would do is change the chandelier in the foyer, it doesn't do justice to the beauty Of this place!

      MAlps...ita. I can't stand it. Uggghhh...so ridiculous. Would love to replace....just don't know if that is in the budget to start off! I know how pricey my choice of chandeliers would be!!! ;-)

      Love the marble floor and tile in kitchen. Not crazy about the wallpaper borders, but love this house.
      Had to comment, so I can follow this thread. I also noticed your other post for the balcony room.

      Well i u cant stand it than its gotta go... Perhaps you can put it in a bedrooom. What else ar you looking to change?

      The black and white floor…leave the chinoiserie paper with the blue. Looks great with the kitchen tile.

      The black and white check wallpaper , remove the border.

      The room with the balcony, remove the strip under the balcony. Frame out the large opening with appropriate woodwork. Remove the paper in that wet bar area and paint the walls.


      The black flowered paper…a no go.

      The room with the blue walls…blue would be nice, but that is the wrong blue. More like the blue in the kitchen and Asian toile wallpaper.

      Maybe the red is okay,,,hard to tell from the pictures, but I would change the yellow.

      I completely agree with the black floral wallpaper needing to go! I want to finish that room with the grasscloth paper like shown in the inspiration photo below....and turn that into my husband's study/office.

      The photo of the dining room with the check paper with border doesnt do it justice. IT is more beige and white than brown/black. I will search for my inspiration for that room and post it later!
