I like your first comment from flair lighting, but you can also paint the table black! And then you can do the chairs in something like a coral, or turquoise, or even in the grey you are saying you like. And if you want to stick with the black and white, paint the table white and the chairs black and then have fun with place mats and table accessories for colour as you like.

White and gray, for me, are a big no. Stained is an option. The kitchen if fairly neutral and i like the warm woods. A 4th choice might be a strong contrasting color. It depends on your personal style though. These are some hills in Provence, France. I love some of these colors for the table.

I like the idea of some color there, as others have suggested. Or, search 'two-toned tables' on this site. There are lots of examples of tables with natural wood tops and painted legs.

Ok just my simple taste , but I probably won't paint it an accent color. Feel like I have too much white to do the table white as well but I love the look of a white table. My dining table, which is not far, is black distressed legs with a stained top. Leaning towards painting this black with stained chairs, but feel like it's too close to my other table?!?!?!?
