I have a small home that I have completely renovated myself. It is a 750 sq. ft home in the north east. It is an old beach bungalow (2 blocks from beach) with stucco walls. I plan to paint walls off white, have off-white kitchen cabinets, stainless steel appliances. Trying for a beach modern look if there is such a thing. Because of the condition of the home, as much as I tried to level the floors they will need some addition leveling work using self leveling cement.

I just don't know what to do with the floors. I was initially thinking light laminate wood flooring (bleached / worn look). Someone suggested wood pattern porcelain tile.

Also if I go with laminate would be strange to just tile the kitchen? I do plan to tile the bathroom just the same. Budget is definitely a factor in my decision.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
