It's hard to say without seeing the rest of the room.

I agree photos are a must. However, all these designers and magazines that are featuring Gray so much, have never lived in a basement. I would stay away from gray, instead use a gray based color such as SW Escape Gray that is a lovely green/gray and will be much more appealing as the trendy Gray will soon take a back seat to color choice.

You haven't said what you plan to paint these colors..... walls, upper cabinets & lower cabinets, etc. Gray is very much overdone at this time. Be sure to add nice hardware to the cabinets.
