Rustic solid benches look nice and are great for wiggly kids (noticed some young 'uns in your picture).


Seen a lot of pictures where people pair hefty wood country tables with modern clear ghost chairs. I quite like that and am doing a variation on it myself right now (mostly because it's a small space and the clear chairs disappear visually)

find the chair BEFORE you decide how to finish the table.

the table is amazing. i would mix it up- a bench on one side maybe parsons chairs around the rest. also like mixing with ghost chairs.

Whichever chair you find attractive, think function first and sit in it. It must be comfortable. I like the looks of these with your table & to pick an upholstered chair for each end if you have the room. I also would not paint the legs (especially not until you get the right chairs. I love the natural farmhouse look you have chosen.
