Barn door hardware

I am not quite understanding. The hardware I have seen looks like the doors are all flat/flush against the wall. The back of my doors protrude and not sure how to mount to a sliding rail against the wall. I feel like I might have to have something mounted from the ceiling?

Can you turn the doors around so the protruding part is on the open side?. Also there are pintrest post with tutorials that show you how to make hardware for barn doors from pipe and hardware as well.

I'm thinking that if you are wanting to leave the the protruding part to the door you like it and want it to show in your home,so use that side of the door on the open side so that it is room side and not wall side and then regular barn wood hardware would work

I'm certain there is a ceiling instillation method, look on you tube and pintrest for ideas,there will be many...I have even seen diy inexpensive pipe from hardware versions that look great
