Help with Master suite

trying to make my bedroom the ultimate design decor... Any suggestions. My bed is heavy & eats up a lot of the space so added a picture to change the focal point. Still have a ways to go. All suggestions are welcomed

Put mirror, artwork or photos above each nightstand for balance.

I think you do need 2 matching nightstands with 2 substantial lamps on each one to ground the room. The art you have is too small over the bed. Go to the ceiling with your draperies and finish off with suble bedding but bold pillows...I attached a photo of a similar room I just finished - I was also able to fit a console table under the window to be used as a desk...

I have ordering the bedding from West Elm it just hasn't arrived yet...it's a white pin tuck bed spread.. I think I'm keep the desk vs. 2 matching nightstands. But I love will definitely remove the picture as you suggested... Thanks for the help!!!

What you are using for nite tables is fine. They should not match. Keep the laptop closed when not in use. Buy two matching lamps. Use the painting above the bed on one wall where you can view it from the bed.

It sounds like you have the bedding figured out. Add some euro sham pillows & a couple of accent pillows in front of them. Good luck.

that is an awesome looking bed, where did you purchase from? Modern lamps will give this room some glamour, glass tables by bed would be pretty and clean. the window treatments should be updated to sheer curtains or roman shades, the curtain/blind combo distracts from what this room could be.

Thanks Mary! I brought it from Havertys. I've cleaned it up a little since I posted this pic. believe it or not that is a modern lamp sitting on this night stand. It's so beautiful when lit. I removed the painting on the nightstand and the Love Mirror on the side of the wall. I've ordered wisteria sheers from Brylan home just waiting on delivery. I'm trying to glam this room up...trying the operative word. I'm not sure if I'm totally in love with the bed.

Aww, PJ - it is a lovely bed! You are getting some good advice above, and I think you will like the bed much better once the wall colour supports it. A violet, or purple based grey would both look well here. You can move your furniture a bit closer together, and you might consider new hardware, if you are keeping both pieces, and a new picture frame in the same metal tone. Painting the desk and bedstand the same colour will help , too.If you re purchase either or both, look for more substantial replacements - love the desk Robin is showing for you. I also think you could stand a double width on those curtains, especially if you moving to sheers -higher and wider will look well. I agree with those suggesting moving the artwork, and would look at a pair of mirrors on either side of the bed, instead.

You can test some new wall shades at the BM or SW paint sites:

Wow!!! The violet wall color makes a world of difference. Who would have thunk?!? Lol I am going to purchase so mirrors to hang over nightstand and desk. I think the bed will look a whole lot better when she's dressed. The bedspread should give it richness. My intention for this room was contemporary but I'm not feeling that. I'm going to heed your instructions and see if pushing the furniture closer helps. Thanks
