I searched the internet for advice on this and finally decided on martial arts tiles from www.foamtiles.com. We are building a home gym for our teenage sons and are doing it in school colors so we are doing a checkerboard of red and black tiles, but you can do all black - all blue - all red or all gray. I actually think doing a checkerboard in gray and black would be very nice as well. You can put them down over cement floors or whatever floors you have. You can remove them easy. Fit together like a puzzle. ZERO odor and bounce the perfect amount - not too much, but enough for shock absorption. The reviews were extremely good and I have to agree - inexpensive, easy to install, great customer service, fast delivery! What more can you ask for! Good Luck!

We went with a 7/8" tatami interlocking floor tile for our home gym. Different supplies but pretty much the same product. They've worked out really well for our kiddos, and it was fun to install -- like a puzzle - as toenges1 said:
