We just bought a house that was built in 1950 and had never been touched. We're at painting stage and love bold gray tones but are worried that the low ceilings will make the darker colors feel claustrophobic. Would three different shades of gray be a good mix throughout the house? Can you recommend what shades provide a nice contrast but can still make the rooms look open. Here is a picture of the soon to be kitchen opening up into the living room. The floor is pictured in next image. Cabinets are white and we have a bertazzoni black oven and hood as the highlight of the kitchen. Any advice would be so appreciated!
