Advice for living room rug

I would like advice on selecting a rug for our living room we have three dogs and this is a Florida home where sand seems to track in often we think we are contemporary

    There are some wonderful faux sisal carpets that are indoor outdoor. You could get one and take it outside and hose it down if necessary. It would be clean looking, contemporary, and beachy.
