May I use this photo?

I would like to use this in my newsletter. If I may, how do I credit the photographer?

Thanks for asking! I have had a lot of photos used without credit or permission, most recently in a book about general stores in Vermont that turned up for sale in my local store. The editor did ask me, but then forgot to credit me... might have been easier to miss if they had not used it on the cover!

I believe you are asking for a typical commercial use, to print my image and use it for your own firm's advertising? If so, please send me details on how and where it will be used. If it is compatible with my firm's marketing plans, I'll give you permission to use it at no charge and just credit "Putney Design". If not, you probably don't want to sign a user agreement a pay a fee, which is the normal way to use a photographer's work? FYI, there are a lot more of my photos on flickr.com that illustrate landscape and wildlife in Vermont and are available through "Creative Commons" licensing for non-profit use under the user name "putneypics". See our website putneydesign.com for more photos of our design and building work. Jerry Hiam
