You wont go wrong with either one by the feedback Ive heard. Silestone has been around longer and a more recognized brand name is the main difference IMO.

What Designs by BSB said is accurate. For more recognized quartz brands, each has their own price system and we don't notice a real difference in quality. They all have slightly different colors, some with a larger selection than others. Where you get into much larger price differences is where you may want to research the brand, some don't have great quality control and colors may not match your sample as well, or may be of lower quality. For these two brands, I agree there is no real difference in quality. Good luck with your project!

Thank you, I have noticed more selection with Silestone over Hanstone but I've been able to find something I like with Hanstone so it basically comes down to quality. I don't want to spend money on a product that's poorly made and it sounds like I won't have that issue if I go with Hanstone :)

katmere77.... can I ask if you have made a selection? I am looking at countertops and recently found Hanstone Tranquility that I really like. Renovation on my kitchen begins next week, therefore, I need to make a decision rather soon.

Hi Kimberly, how exciting to be starting your renovations! I ended up going with the Hanstone Aurora Snow and I've been very pleased with it. As the others have said, both brands (Silestone and Hanstone) offer quality countertops but the price for Hanstone, was more reasonable. With Silestone you really are paying a premium for name brand. I say go for the Hanstone, especially if you found a slab you like. I don't think you'll be disappointed. =)

Hi Larissa, I viewed the Tranquility and decided it was not the right one for my kitchen, although it was beautiful. I ended up selecting Ceasarstone Frosty Carrina. I recommend that you bring your sample cabinets and backsplash into a location where you can view the slabs. That really helped me to decide. Good luck!

Kimberly - I know it's been a while, but did you move forward with the Tranquility? I'm looking at that for my kitchen, but am kind of turned off my Hanstone's warranty. Also looking at Cambria. It's more expensive, but they seem to have better service if there's an issue.

Just had Hanstone Serenity i staled yesterday and love it.

Terry....I just ordered hanstone serenity my cabinets are same as yours...did you pick out a backsplash yet?

How has HanStone held up everyone? I requested a quote for HanStone and was advised that they no longer supply due to maintenance difficulties with the product. Just curious has anyone had any issues?

I went down today and they said they have had no issues. Might just be they are more loyal to other larger brands

Terry Dougherty and dmocjo27 I'm considering Hanstone Serenity for my maple cabinet kitchen reno. Does this installed slab come across as more cream or white?

We have been in our house less than 30 days and my hanstone tranquility has scratches and chips. And my kids are grown so it’s not like we are overusing and abusing the counters. Very disappointing..

For our kitchen countertops we used granite which was less expensive and more durable and stain proof, unlike the artificial stone countertops. A lot of the cost with granite is the bullnosing but we bought 8 foot slabs that already had bullnosing and so the installers only needed to make the angled cuts to join them.

@Terry Dougherty - do you still like the Serenity now that you've lived with it a while?
