Finished my first (and maybe last) raffle quilt!

There's a bit of a story here. I support an organization that each of the last two years has had a quilt donated for their charity raffle. The quilts were just awful, poorly made and a size that wasn't even useful for anything. Few tickets even sold. We pondered the question of was it the clientel not liking quilts in general or the fact the quilts were awful. So we tried this as a test, a twin size quilt that was nice looking. We intend to see if it sells tickets. If not, we tried and will not have quilts in the raffle in the future. And, we know what will happen if it does! Wish me luck.

I purposely did a minimum of piecing and a maximum of quilting to be a show off. I am hoping it will catch a few by surprise and do the job.

Linda, it's lovely! Great quilting! That always catches my eye, more than intricate piecing.

Linda - that is beautiful! It reminds me of a quilt my mom had on my grandmother's bed. Hoping it sells lots of raffle tickets. Let us know how it goes.

WOW, Linda! If there aren't a lot of tickets sold for that quilt, I would wonder what the problem is. Hopefully everyone who is selling tickets will have a picture to show how beautiful it is!

That is a gorgeous quilt! I rarely buy quilt raffle tickets because generally the quilts being raffled have colours that would not fit my colour scheme at all, and are LOTS of that colour so you couldn't even use them for a bit of colour contrast. I'd buy tickets for that quilt for sure because I think it would fit in just about anywhere. Hope you find lots of like-minded folks where you live.

This won't go on the block till next February. It had to be done sooner for the planning and pictures. They hang it at an event and sell raffle tickets to support the music program for young people. After the event, they draw a ticket and the winner is notified.

Wow, I love the colors, and the quilting is beautiful. Nice job. They only sell tickets on the 1 day at the specific event? or can you sell tickets ahead of time ? Hope you sell lots.
