We just moved into a house that was in need of serious updating. We have no trim and just the sill as you do. Went with woven blinds and simple washable drapes. Loving the clean look.

For a quick and not too expensive fix. I would do sheers. You can get by with small rods that won't show. After your ready to go for the wood blinds they can be sold easily and the small rods can be removed and easily fill holes. My daughter had this same problem, the sheers warmed the room, sun still came in, but you can close them at night. And she sold them for 3/4 of what she paid for them on local Facebook garage sale site by keeping the packaging. Great rooms, by the way.

Shame to block the view. If you need privacy, consider wood blinds or shades. Plantations shutters would be too much white as you have so many lovely windows. Add a curtain panels to the left of the 4 window; in the corner, and one between single window and fireplace. Mirror that on the other windows in the room and dining room for a more inviting look. Adding fabric texture will make a huge difference.

I like the bamboo blinds Sharon suggested, but a lighter colored drape with a loose weave or light pattern (if you want the drapes). They may supply the warmth you are lacking and layering the two will add depth.

@mrskain1. Thanks :). Our drapes are thermal because we needed both light control and temperature control. Mid Atlantic here so cold winters and hot summers.

You have a gorgeous room...you wanted light and the view. If you add blinds, shades, or shutters you will lose the light and view. Grommet top panels allow you to have both...and yet close them when you want/need privacy,

We agree with BeverlyFLADeziner. SelectView Shutters are perfect. They have the beautiful look of shutters, but they have the functionality of horizontal blinds. That means you can raise them or even keep the top slats open for light while keeping the bottom closed for privacy.

I think curtains on a pole would offer you a more warm looking and homely feel. Your windows are crying out for curtains and this always offer a more comfortable and luxurious style for a home.
