What color to paint this tiny bathroom

Wanting to refresh the paint in this tiny bathroom off my foyer. This bathroom is only 2 1/2 feet wide with a pedestal sink and a toilet. Considering keeping it the same color or maybe even a shade lighter/warmer. Not really sure what to do. It looks fine now, just wondering if I could do better.

What is the current color? Yellow? I cannot tell on my monitor.

What color is in your rug [red?]... Is there art in the bathroom?

The paint color is a neutral warm tan color. The foyer, living room, bathroom are all the same color. My dining room is painted in a gold color. The rug has red, tan, black in it. Yes I considered painting the bathroom a red color but was concerned it would make the room appear even smaller. Yes, there is some inexpensive art on the wall. Print with a red flower on them. This bathroom is about 2 1/2 foot wide and five foot long.

Just paint the bathroom a couple of shades darker than the LR wall.

A cream of tomato red is softer, or this bathroom has Fallen Leaf. It could make it more interesting too.

I wonder how it would look to just paint the wall with the sink the soft red color and keep the rest the beige color?

I had a friend who had a similar bathroom and he put in black and white damask wallpaper. I mean a large damask which I thought would make the room look even smaller but it had the opposite effect. It went from being a nothing bathroom to wow. The towels were red!

    here is the pattern

Go over the top with the color or use a wallpaper. The powder room is a room where you can really go big with an element of surprise, that is not found in any other part of your home..........Good Luck.

Because the bathroom is so small, would you consider a nice, patterned wallpaper?

Here's another idea. You could leave the color the same, and get a quart of semi-gloss in the same color. Tape off stripes and paint the stripe the semi-gloss. It will be a subtle stripe effect, but add interest, yet keep the color. Here is a horizontal stripe, but they've used two different colors. I think the flat/semi-gloss stripe will be interesting, without being too busy. The horizontal stripes will make the wall width seem a bit wider as well.

I'd go for a navy or blue tone. Even a slate blue would make a statement

Thank you for all the responses. I am considering the strips and applying a bead board. I think that is what it is called. I have never looked at bead boards and not sure if I can do it since I am doing everything myself. Not sure how I would get it behind the sink and toilet. Also should a I stripe all the walls or just a couple?

I was just looking at some pics of semi gloss / flat paint stripes. Really like this idea

I painted my powder room a deep shade called caponata. Dark eggplant color. Love it.

Since the flat/gloss will be subtle, I'd say do all of the walls. Forget the bead board if you will be doing this yourself. You would have to remove the toilet and sink, baseboards, replace baseboards, nail the boards, install trim, spackle seams, paint, etc.

So this color (sherwin williams almond roca) is a couple shades darker and warmer than my foyer. It also blends with my dining room. What do you think?

    Hi---

Since the room is small, I recommend painting the walls a solid color---because the more pattern and contrast in color and value the smaller the room will appear.

Take a look at Chelsea Gray by Ben Moore---it would look Fabulous in your powder room. :))

Hope this is helpful. Good Luck!

I think you need to be bold and daring in this small room and Houzz has a lot of photos of powder rooms to demonstrate. I like rooms where the wall behind the sink is done in glass or metallic small tiles. That could look great with that dark gold paint you posted used on the other walls.

Still deciding on a paint color. This is always the hardest part. My entryway, dining, living room and kitchen are all are painted in a warm neutral color with the exception of my dining room. But I have all warm tones. Even my wood floors and kitchen cabinets. I want my wall colors to flow and make sense. A couple of people have mentioned using a grey in this bathroom. Would it clash with the rest of my house?

Every body has had such beautiful ideas. My budget is small and I am doing it myself. Love the tile idea. Sounds expensive.

That powder room needs a decent size mirror. A more decorative mirror could go a long way to improving the look in the powder room. You might find something at HomeGoods or a store like that. The mirror should be tall enough so that it comes close to the top of your faucet.

Yes! I totally agree about the mirror. Thank you!

Hi there, I wish I were better with color. I'm having the same problem. Question - what is the feel you are going for? Relaxing? Pizzazz?

What color gold is your dining room? I am interested in a gold color for MY tiny bathroom!

Go bold and dark. Make it small and sexy! A rich cranberry or coffee brown with silver or gold framed art.
