I would not pot the white stands on either side. You may want to consider ottomans for underneath console to give it weight and for extra seating for your PARTAY!

I think j found a decent home for the white sticks. What do you guys think about them on the floor here?

By the way, I have 2 of those square stick bowls (from z gallerie). I had them hanging on the wall in my old place.

But I tried to put them on the green wall in dining room a few months ago but couldn't find the right position for it. Everything looked odd because of the slanted wall, so I gave up and put it on the table as a bowl.

I don't like the new location of the vase with lighted sticks. Love your house though. You have a lot of great pieces. Do you want to do another accent wall in this space? May go from original looking to cliche. I like the idea of going green with the walls though. Just not a green accent wall.

No more accent walls. You have enough in this space. Your neutrals are perfect. Leave them alone.

But this activity made me realize that I have a lot of different textures/finishes on the art....
the short list:
- oil on canvas
- glass framed prints
- high gloss resin finish (with and without mat border)
- textured artwork / mixed media
- deer heads and mirrors

Is it okay to mix these on a gallery wall? Also I need to consider the context / colors. Aye! What a mess :(

There's also quite a bit more art to gather around here but I need some sort of action plan. I'm feeling quite discouraged :(

One of the two flower pictures on the floor on the right, in the dining room. My concern in there , is you have so many hard shiny surfaces, it needs more of a balance.

Don't feel discouraged, its great to "shop the house".

I think floating shelves behind the bar are also a great idea. I currently have a 1 long black shelf, 1 long white shelf (pictured above on top of bar), and 2 tiny white shelves. I also have 2 curvy glass shelves (slightly greenish tint to those)

Is it better to put the shelves up first perhaps and then place the artwork or should I plan it all out first before I start drilling holes in the wall?

I don't think I can put anything shiny on the left wall because it reflects the chandelier too much. But I could probably do some shiny (resin) stuff on the right side.. Maybe??

I like 1, 2, 3, or 5 there.

Someone had mentioned that I try the mirrored dresser from my bedroom as the sideboard in the dining room. It's a bit deeper than the current table (see measuring tape on floor). I tried to mock up what it could possibly look like by leaning a floor mirror against the old table. It doesn't leave much space between the table, but it's not terrible.

So much spiky, cold and hard.

But I think it's all about balancing it out here. I want my living room to be the equivalent of a tough leather jacket paired with a whimsical skirt :)

Balance is right. Humans feel uncomfortable with too much cold and hard. Your plants are actually cutting edge fashion. The world is looking to add more nature to homes, as an antidote to our built up environments. As for warmth in dining rooms, its believed to aid digestion and bonhomie in entertaining.

I think a collection of modern, vibrant, textural glass and ceramic would look nice on your table. But that would mean getting more stuff! lol

With all the black/dark stuff and all the hard shiny surfaces, this room is giving a very different vibe than your living room, which I find feels much more whimsical and playful. If that's intentional and you're happy with that, then that's great. But if you want the living room vibe to continue here then I think you need to somehow add texture and softness to balance out the dark, shiny surfaces.

Okay, is the dining console centered to the wall or the dining table? I would center to dining table...hard to tell from pictures. I would try elephant picture on the left above console, deer head on the right side above console, and some monochromatic animal print/paint below. Find a shapely big vase and but branches with green leaves on the left side of console to soften the corner wall. Cut out the shapes of your paintings in newspaper and play around with the sizes that work best for the wall.

Other suggestion for that wall is remove the console entirely. Stick a tree in the corner and a big ass painting on the wall...done.

You could turn that painting "face" to the wall if the vicar came for dinner.

Wow. I want to come shop for accents at your house! I like your idea of a mixed art (mediums) wall. Can you group some things for consideration? How much caffeine do you intake? It took me a year+ so try out curtains for my living room!

Marilyn in the bedroom is too cliche. Try her and Jimmie and a few small pieces on the side wall, behind the bar. Zebra rug in the bedroom. Round mirror where you had it in the dining room.

The round mirror on the other wall in the dining room has to go. Cover the hole with different art.

Finally I love your silver mirror and think it should stay where it is. I also prefer the mirror that's above the console. I like how the mirrors reflect the chandelier and add to the mood, glamour, etc.

I think I may need to start a separate thread to style my bar area and dining room. Nothing seems to be working... I'm exhausted

I would pick one or the other and go from there. I vote for bar just cuz...well...ya know. Did the zebra rug not work underneath? Still love the idea of floating shelves for bar paraphernalia, with some Jimmy thrown in.

I like the zebra art and the white spike-y flowers with the console. I'd consider hanging the zebra rug above the bar with the white stick art on the other wall. Don't get discouraged--you've made massive improvements in a very short time. I'm not a fan of the lighted sticks by the tv console (less is more).
