I'd need to see some pictures. European can mean a lot of things. Wrought iron is cool for many styles. They come in all kinds of styles now. If the house is more craftsman or cottagey some decorative wooden ballisters would be very fitting.

The house is under construction. What do you mean by craftsmen? It is a two story foyer and I would say I am more traditional...formal. Definitely not cottagey.

I like this design. I don't want it over the top but a statement...only stairs in house. Not curved staircase but it does have a turn.

If you are a more traditional/formal type, you probably won't like that style. It tends to be more simple and clean.

I like what you posted for a traditional look although the hand rail is a little thin and looks more like an outdoor railing. I would beef that up a bit.

Are you going to put a big chandelier in there as well? You said it's a 2 story foyer so you can go pretty big.

Did you consider a combination?
This example () is more contemporary than you'd like, I think, but there are many other like this that may fit your desired style.
There is, of course, as always, the question of cost...

Definitely do not like the handrail.Only thing I like is the wrought iron design. I would have stained wood for the hand railing I was referring to the wrought iron design. There are several I like on houzz. but I can't figure out how to attached them to this e-mail. I will attached a picture of my current staircase. I want something a little different. I have been going back and forth with wood ballisters vs wrought iron.
