Is this rug too small for the living room?

Is this rug too small for this space? The rug is a 5x7 and I'm having a her time figuring out how to spatially fit this rug with the chaise for it to look symmetrical. Would an 8x10 be a better fit and if so how and where should I place the rug with respect to the couch?

Suggestions extremely appreciated.

Since you are returning, a rug with a geometric pattern may be a nice addition for added interest and see size and placement below.

i think its too small. maybe try moving it forward so that it doesn't line up with the sofa..??

A size bigger would be better, but try to move it under the sofa by 6" and over to the right by 12"

Beverly - the image provided is helping immensely! I was having a difficult time figuring out configuration and I appreciate the input.

Maureen- we are now leaning towards something similar to the image provided since our space is so plain! Thank you for the suggestion!

We finally got a new rug and wanted to update. What do you think? Our place is still a work in progress - we still need to paint and get new decor. Thank you again for your suggestions on getting a bigger size!
