bought some pine furniture (dining table, china cabinet). I would like to paint a pretty slate grey and stain the table top a dark cherry. How do I even go about doing this? Can I just paint right on top of the chairs or do I have to spend hours sanding? There is no paint on the furniture, just a polyurethane gloss.
