Colors!??

I would consider how much light you get in the room in regard to how dark you should paint it. The color that you showed looks a bit dark for the room. I would consider going with the same color family but in a lighter shade. Seeing the light gold in your pillow, another possibility might be a light gold.

the rust color will not go with your furniture especially the wine chair. The blue choice is a great color, i have used it many times. It will look clean, fresh and still look soft and homey. It is a little darker than most people choose but it works.

Let me suggest, given the amount of windows you have in the room, that the colors you pulled should be the color of accents and pillows. Too dark for the walls without adding a ton of lighting and liking that drama. I think you should check out something like golden straw or golden tan from . .. ben moore

How about that blue turquoise on just the wall of the fireplace and then going with a nice tan neutral for the rest of the room? Another idea is to make the whole room nuetral and then add that turquoise blue in some drapes on the windows.

There is a lot of gray in this room. I'd change the circular rug to a larger rectangular one and pull a wall colour from that. I agree with everyone else that it should not be too dark as there doesn't appear to be a great deal of light in this room. Another suggestion - perhaps move the end sofa so the back of it is toward the arches, and move the chair beside it to the other side of the fireplace. This will give the room a cosier feeling and balance the room as well

I love the blue but would go a couple shades lighter. I think it would really highlight the molding and other architectural details. I love that ceiling!

I like the second color from Specialists above. It has a blueish gray look that I was thinking about. You have a wonderful room! Make your crown moldings and trims pop.

Paint the walls but not the trim a deeper creme or medium celery. Increase the width of the molding around the windows and doors and keep them the same color as the ceiling. Remove large mirror behind sofa and use multiple smaller mirrors in varied shapes but the same colored frames. Paint then distress coffee and end tables in red or celery. Remove most of the toss pillows and replace thin base lamps with ones with more colorful ceramic bases to match tables but keep shade color matching the trim and molding.

I like both of these colors.

Looks like the second picture painted the fireplace wall a dark color, then softened the edges with plants. Second picture doesn't have the beautiful molding like you.

Here are two new colors in the same family but a little lighter that I want to go with! The blue/ grey color on the fireplace wall and in the foyer and the brown/ bronze color for the rest.. What do ya think

I like the blue/grey. I'm not seeing bronze brown. I'm thinking a dark cream.

I would go with the green in the pillow, maybe as an accent wall. I think the orange would make the room feel small. I personally love dark colors!!

Chose a color like the green, grey green or a nice tan color for the walls.

You have a lot of heavy furniture in dark colours so I would opt for a lighter but warm colour out of your pillow, like Concord Ivory HC-12 Benjamin Moore (I'd post the colour, but I don't know how). Its both rich in colour, with sunny undertones. It would bring out the richness of the fireplace. Consider a large rectangular area rug as well to tie all the colours in your room together.

I would stick with a neutral color.
