These figurines are from my grandmother, who passed away many years ago.
They are marked CHINA on the bottom and they were in her home for as long as my father can remember - so probably back to the 1930s (possibly 1920s).
I've tried to research what they are but I don't think I've come across the correct answer.
I thought possibly they are "foo dogs" but they do not have a ball or a cub under one foot. Also their ears stick up. Most pictures I found on line have the ears facing down. They are only a few inches high.
I'd like to know what animal they represent and if their is any significance or meaning behind them.
Or a suggestion if a better forum for me to ask this question?
