Parquet refinishing tips...

Your refinished floors look great, congrats! I'm about to take on the same project for about 800 sq. ft. Can your offer any tips or advice? What color stain did you use? Was it DYI or professional help? Please let me know if you don't mind. I'd really appreciate it!! Best, Dave

    Hi Dave,

The floors were refinished professionally. They used a standard floor sander and then a belt sander around the edges. The stain was applied by hand I believe and then three coats of matte finish sealer. The entire process took three days to complete. I don't remember the stain color name exactly I want to say Indian Spice or something similar I will try and see if I can locate the paperwork.

Thanks! It's good to know that it is "possible" to refinish parquet. I've gotten conflicting feedback from various sources. Do you mind sharing with me the approximate total cost per sq. ft? Thank you again for your information, I really appreciate it. It's a fantastic office!

I believe that it was between $3.25-$3.50 per square foot for stain and three coats of match finish top coat.
