Painting the kitchen cupboards.

We bought a house with a huge kitchen. It has all custom-made cabinets but they are pine (some knots show--ugh!). I'd love to have them changed! Painted?? Am I wrong in wanting to cover up this wood? The cupboards are really nice and in great shape!

Post pics. If it is that beautiful amber old pine, painting it would be a sin. Sell it to someone that appreciates it instead. If you are mistaking cheap knotty alder modern cabinets for old pine, then paint it. Or burn it. Cabinet makers have somehow convinced customers that it is something other than a cheap trash wood by slapping it with the dubious labels of ''rustic'' or ''custom''..

Only paint if you do not like how they currently look. My daughter bought a house with pine cupboards and I painted them white because they were ugly and made the house look like an old cottage.

Ok! These cupboards are Wood-Mode (not cheap). I guess I am not appreciating their beauty. I will adjust my thinking thanks to your comments and help! NO paint!
