Need Help with designing Kitchen Remodel, & Possibly House Extension.
Comments (36)I am happy too see this thread is still alive. Like I said before if Joe were in my neck of the woods I would hire him. I am sure there are clients that are in his neck and will hire him to which he will be duly compensated for. I would consider this advertising. If myrenokitchen moves forward with this kitchen and the addition becomes a reality how do we know Joe will not be hired to provide drawings? I did not see him draw her plans that can be submitted to any building department. This is what I refer to as good faith, or good will, if you put it out there as Joe and many others here on Houzz have it will come back to them in spades it's just a universal truth. And I did notice that Mona has posted on over 1000 pro bono discussions. If all of the advice given here were to expect compensation there would be no forum, so we need to watch out that we are not too critical here in these threads because that type of thinking takes away our Freedom of expression!...See MoreKitchen Extension

Comments (0)Hello. I am adding a 6m single story extension to my house. I am going to put the kitchen and dining table in there. The room will have bi fold doors measuring 4m by 2.1m. I was considering putting in two lantern skylights measuring 1.5m by 3m. Now im concerned that this may be too much glass in the room and may lead to temperature issues in the summer and winter. Is this the right size of skylight for the extension? Any ideas?...See MoreHelp with designing a Galley Kitchen extension/remodel?
Comments (9)I think your expansion idea is good. But, moving the refrigerator into the dining space would not be very attractive and it is an inconvenient location for your work triangle with sink, stove, refrigerator. So, I'd keep the add on space as storage and extra counter space. You may even want to install some glass fronts to give the space and lighter look. Oh...the cabinets above the sink seems awfully high up. I'd get new upper cabinets that are lower above the counter. One more thing, if you can swing a trash compacter next to the dishwasher you'll avoid multiple trips to the trash and no worries how to hide or store a trash bin....See MoreAccentuations By Design Inc.
