I just put in a range. Bought a BROAN hood that does not vent to outside. No problems here. Exhaustless like the BROAN have filters to replace and we found it at build.com reasonably priced.

You can have a stove on an interior wall as long as you can run the duct to the exterior wall for better ventilation. You may need to build a bulkhead (it will need to be incorporated in the design) or run the duct over the cabinets or inside the cabinets. If you have the option of running it between the joists it will avoid the bulkheads.

A ventless hood could work if it's legal in your area. I'm told they're no longer legal in California.

Some hoods have (an option for) special carbon filters to recycle the air.
But I was told they don't work as well as the exterior vent.
