Prob a stupid question but how do u use row covers on a 2 row (4x12) raised beds?

Those are pvc pipes under the row covers. You don't have to use the hoops at all. The type of row cover called 'insect barrier' is extremely lightweight and can simply be laid over the plants. If you do want to invest in hoops, 1/2" pvc works just fine and will last a long time. In this photo I was still learning how to hold them down well. I settled on a few bricks and the woodchips around the edges. It was simple to sweep the chips with my hand and lift the covers each morning to pollinate.

They stay on 24/7. These particular covers allow 90% light transmission. Different products from the various manufacturers are rated for different transparencies and heat retention. The 'insect barrier' is usually the lightest, and allows both good light and airflow through the fabric. The downside is that you need be delicate if you hope to get more than one year from the lightweight stuff.

The only time they are lifted is for harvest and pollination, which for me, is done at the same time early each morning. There's a level of commitment to using the row covers... as Dave said, hand pollination... but for many people the benefits out-weight the the downs.
