Need help planning our first floor area

Hello Everyone!

First time posting but we're really struggling with what we want to do. We just purchased a house and will be moving in the next couple of months. The first floor area will serve as our living/family room and non-formal dining area for most nights. We currently have a 96" x 36" and 60" x 36" sofa and loveseat, respectively. I think they will be too big for the area we want to use as the living room (the 10'6'' side) so looking for suggestions on whether we should go 80" and 60" or with a sectional in the corner. Here are the dimensions (not drawn to scale). We're open to any idea and have roughly $3-4k to spend on furnishing. Any suggestions will help! Thank you!

How exciting! Congrats! Are you sure your furniture is too big? Or do you just want new stuff? It's a real question ;-)

I would use the sizes you have with a table in the corner with lighting.

Too boring? I just like great big seating and to me, it looks like you have the room...

There are many stores that offer free design advice; I would take you plans to some of them and look around and ask some questions.....You should also make sized templates of your furniture and put on floor plan to see if you have walking room.

Most people place the TV and then the sofa opposite and go from there.

Free design service at Ethan Allen, Bassett, Ashley Home Store, RC Willey, Lazy Boy, Pottery Barn, ZGallerie, and I think Restoration Hardware. Also does Broyhill still have furniture galleries? Not sure! But this is a start. Good luck and have fun!

Yah, your furniture is too big. You don't indicate where there are windows, so where do you plan to put the TV?

Your numbers didn't exactly add up (either that, or my math skills are really rusty), but maybe this will help: an empty floor plan, and one with your furniture to scale.

Your sofa, one small chair, 36" coffee table, 54" dining table; I really dislike corner televisions, but it looks unavoidable here.

Here's what I came up with. Sofa is 66".

Thanks everyone. There is a bay window along the side where the front door is. I would love to keep our furniture no matter what but I think they'll be too big and if they did fit it would be too crowded. We do plan to talk to a designer in some fashion but seeing all of your ideas are already so helpful.
