I live in an expanded cape....

I would like to make my front and side porch look more inviting....(the pictures were taken a few years ago and the pachysandra is thinning) I was going to have the landscaper dig a bed around the mailbox and tree so I could plant some annuals....our primary entrance is the side porch. As for the front porch, I am at a loss

...any suggestions would be so helpful
