i definitely think that if you painted white it would make the office feel a lot bigger and brighter. perhaps find a bigger and more organized storage unit so everything can be displayed/stored easier. get rid of as much clutter as possible...check out IKEA for office organizing stuff http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/categories/departments/workspaces/workspace_storage/ , they're are affordable and work well. decide what color you are doing with the white, are you keeping the rest of the furniture black? if so remove the tan chair, they will make more space, and they currently clash with the black....the black trunk is very cool though! if it was utilized as a storage space (inside) it could make a great statement....those are just a few random suggestions...im not very experienced! :)
