Is there anyway to add lights after Tiled?

Why is it so dark in there that you need to light the place you put your soap and shampoo?

It’s a good point but it was more about highlighting the decorative tile inside the niche. I’ll probably just forget it ;)

@HU-234179775 - there are several posts on Houzz where people discuss backlighting shower/tub niches - and they include posts/comments from well respected pros (example - Bill Vincent who used to post many comments on Houzz but has moved over to John Bridge Tile Forum). I actually read a post that was started by a professional who used to be very active on this forum (John Whipple - he also has a business user name but can’t remember it) - he was doing one in his own house.

My point is that it’s not necessarily a bad idea. If you have a beautifully tiled niche - and use decorative shampoo/conditioner/liquid soap bottles, it could look very nice. People have very polarized feelings about niches here on Houzz. I understand both sides. I’ve seen some very nicely finished AND MAINTAINED niches, and I’ve seen some horribly finished ones + horribly maintained ones. Unless you plan to have your niche well designed/constructed + maintained nicely as well, I would skip the decorative lighting.

As far as whether you can add lights after the niche has been tiled, I would head over to the John Bridge Tile Forum and ask your question over there. When Ineeded some advice, I found the people over there to be very knowledgeable + also very friendly/polite.
