Hi, we are in the process of having our original 1940s hardwood floors refinished. I am choosing between special walnut and provincial for the floors (haven't decided yet). I also plan to have the stair risers painted white and the treads and railings stained. Should the stairs treads and railing match the floors or should those be a shade darker ? What do most people suggest looks best?
