I think your stools should have more presence in front of the island.

They are from Crate and Barrel and are much more comfortable than they look. I think I will try to find one with more presence to buy and compare, if I can't find one to compare this will be it!

You are smart to go with comfort before anything else. These however are too delicate for your statement kitchen. I'd keep looking. Will you be adding color or do you want to keep everything monochromatic? Maybe something with some texture, or color?
