I'd leave the windows as is, but put drapes on the door. Depending on whether you would prefer a richer or a more airy feeling, you could use the blue from the throw cushions, or off-white linen or faux-linen (textured). The space just needs a bit of softening, and that would do it.

Also, you need to lower the tryptich. at least 6 inches.

OR, if you want to soften up the look, then do a nice curtain panels with sheers on the inside or a roll out shade instead of sheers that you can lover when you need your privacy. Adding a cornice may bee too much for your place, but that could be something to think about.

I would do matching grommet top panels on the door and window. Keep the shade up except when absolutely needed.

I agree with the above post that the Duette Honeycomb VertiGlide by Hunter Douglas would be a great option. Since it's a small space, there is limited space on each side of the door for stacking. The VertiGlide system has the narrowest stacking out of all the Hunter Douglas products. During the day, you could keep the shade stacked in the open position without blocking much of the glass.
