We've began making over my daughter ?????

We've began making over my 12 year old daughter bedroom and we're almost finished. We're having a hard time deciding on wall decor?

This is what we need help with: Where to place photos? Where to hang mini Polaroids? where to place shelf?

the photo of the bed with bare windows was taken before we purchased curtains.

If the shelf is intended to hold books I'd put it over the desk. If it's for general decor, maybe on the wall opposite the window (I can't tell what else might be on that wall - maybe a closet?) Photos, well, it depends how many and how large, but again, over the desk or on that wall. PS lovely, sophisticated looking room for a girl that age.

Give your daughter some paper to cut out to the sizes of the different wall art. Give her blue tack and let her move the paper pieces around on the wall. Tell her to leave the same distance between each piece.

When she is happy with the arrangement, you can hang the items with her. Remember, it is her room.

I love huge cork boards in kids bedrooms their love stuff changes like the wind and this allows many changes without affecting the walls at all .

The walls seem less barren with brighter curtains. Just something to consider. Black and white striped curtains or even solid white curtains would also work.

I like this look, but I just bought these curtains $120 bucks....but I like how these curtains look in the photo.....yes it does look bland as it is now.

I don't think the issue is necessarily the curtains, it's the contrast between the curtains and bedding. Ex.

This duvet is more colorful but incorporates the curtain color...
