@memaroxy I think you should set him up as a "pro" with his email. I believe you can set the new "pro" profile up as an artist. After you setup the profile, in the top right corner(on a PC) there is an upload button.

I'm no expert, but if your husband plans to post images of his (lovely!) work online, apparently there's simple software out there that you can use to "watermark" his images, so anyone poaching them will stick out like a sore thumb.

Otherwise, nowadays, post them, and they're out of your hands forever. ;)

"watermarks" are easy to obscure.

My husband has a strange habit of always including his fingerprint on his artwork. We did have an episode on eBay where a person made copies of his sketches sold them as "originals" and had his share of grief because of it!

Speaking of him, why don't you advertise a little and tell us where we can purchase his work ? You have stirred quite a lot of attention and compliments !

My husbands does all his artwork from our home. He uses a photo provided by the client and does the sketch. Each sketch is priced according to the amount of detail in the photo. He has done portraits, homes, wedding photos. He can also take several different photos and make a single sketch from them. He made a sketch for a lady whose husband never caught that "big" one and had her husband in the sketch with a 12 point buck! The time needed for a sketch varies from 1-7 days and oil paintings from 1-3 months as time for oil to dry etc. Our email is coloradomema@ gmail.com. If anyone is interested email him a pic, actual photo should be at least 5x7 and he will give price. He also does Civil War, Native American anything you want! They are all originals no prints!

I think your house is charming and perfectly reflects your interests. Moving the two pics really focused the attention on the art. Though the snowshoe is great and appropriate for the room. Acshew near the painting looks a bit staged. Possibly somewhere else in the room. But if not still looks great.

Those charcoal sketches of older areas of your town would be fantastic framed simply in a more transitional or contemporary frame to go with many decor styles making it marketable to many..... Great talent!

He sells them unframed for just that reason & you are correct they do fit in many decors. His Civil War sketches are usually in the most elaborate frames. Thanks!

I'm in school for interior design. Everyone has different tastes and it's all about making the client happy and their tastes. It's their home and I love that you love your home because that's all that really matters! I get a lot of flack for having a neutral earth tone home but I love it and feel at peace everyday :)

How about using one of his sketches to be transferred to a pillow? How cool would that be?!!!

Yes, tell him to upload them on spoonflower. You can choose any fabric (silk, cotton, linen, etc) You can also make the design available for purchase by other people. If someone orders your design on fabric, you receive a percentage of the sale.

Whitetail...Your mother was right on. I have been married for 53 years this past Feb. My husband is 73 and I am 72 years young. Still do most of what we always have done, fishing, hunting, traveling by van all over the country and Canada, raised children and have our grandchildren with us as much as we can get them (school gets in the way). To do all this, we give 100% to each other. Sometimes we fail but that is not very often. Love and Respect does wonders to your marriage. Try it - you'll like it. :)

My husband likes to decorate, too. Unfortunately, for me it's all about his home state and his university; WVU. He is a proud Mountaineer! I have allowed it to go no further than the tv room. The rest I say goes in the garage!! LOL :) Every marriage works differently. I am a photographer. I am blessed to have a husband who loves for me to hang my pictures. Here's to artists with very understanding and supportive spouses :)

Sounds a lot like me except I always have new beer cans on hand decorating the inside of the garage fridge and the inside of the recycle barrel.

My husband came into our marriage with several thousand CDs, many many many rows of LPs, and he convinced six of his best friends to pitch in cash and buy us a 3 x 7 foot art collage that consists of guitar fronts, leather, fun fur, bottle caps and metal studs - as a wedding present! I love the guy but man oh man! My mother always tells me that since I spend more time at home I should make 90 percent of the decor decisions. She won that argument years ago - her house is almost entirely pink. Not really fair either.
It would be nice to be in decor synch with your spouse. I envy you that, Wildlife Lady.

As I said before, you are a loving wife. My husband's den decor may not be everyone's choice, but it is a reflection of him and his accomplishments. He was/is a very gifted man. I make it work with a good leather sofa, sisal wall to wall, a menswear glen plaid on the windows, hanging on bamboo rods and a big red Asian cabinet. He loves HIS room and, I think was a little surprised that I got so into decorating around his memorabilia. Makes a house a home. :>) Best part? We had fun doing it together.

People should be proud of the home they've created and the memories that have been made there. You have to ask yourself if the place really does represent who you are. When your eye travels around the room, does it say something about the people who live in that house? .........

It amazes me how many designers consider themselves "artists," yet totally negate the inherent independent individuality true art must embody....smh. To Whitetail, I love your husband's artwork, he is truly talented, especially for being so self taught. This is a style you might see about anywhere in the Greater Tulsa area except downtown....and even that wouldn't totally shock me. Art is generally a reflection of life, and around here even many people who live in planned suburban communities spend evenings, weekends, and holidays in the woods, often hunting. So of course the homes often lean toward woodsy themes.

Is your husband into photography at all? Since you both like the "outdoor" type of vibe, take some photos outside, landscape, ocean, whatever interest you..blow up the photos and hang
