Ask the flooring people what wood it is once it is sanded just wipe an area with a damp cloth and that will show you pretty close to what it will look like . Keep in mind stain is often applied to even out differences in shades of wood throughout the space My guess is the floors are not from the 20’s

That looks like hickory. Which was NOT used in the '20's. The house has obviously been revamped. I would say you have a natural finish on hickory. The finish that you would apply would look A LOT like what you have now.

A few more photos would certainly help. A few more room shots plus one or two a little closer (an in focus) would help.
