Big Chandelier(s) Over Large Island - Pics & Dimensions please!

We are renovating our house - the kitchen is 21.75' x 15.5'. Island is 47.5" x 104.5". We are wanting to put 2 chandeliers over the island. Chandeliers are 26.5" W x 24.5" H. The staircase is off center to the middle of the island so using only one chandelier would enhance that it is off center. (The smaller version of the light is 21" W x 22.5" H, however it is not as pretty and does not have that same WOW factor). Sooo we are leaning towards 2 of the bigger ones - image of light below) ... Just wondered if anyone else has 2 big chandeliers over their island so I can see what the effect looks like!

Hi Rebecca. What did you decide. Can I ask where you purchased the chandelier in the photo?

I threw caution to the wind and went with 2 large chandeliers !! They are Schonbek Bagatelle 1238. I upgraded to the Spectra Crystal.

That is fantastic. I am going for the same look. Our island is 11' long x 4' wide. Unfortunately, most of my budget went to the subzero integrated refrigerator and the beautiful 1908 provence blue LaCornue! What are you doing for the lighting that connects/is seen through your other rooms?

@ Rebecca3663 - beautiful chandelier and would love to see photos when they're up!

@ wingypo - La Cornue pieces are lovely works of art!

That is a beautiful oven - Wow! We went with Schonbek Bagatelle in all the surrounding rooms - flush mount (1242) over Rear Kitchen Entrance, Sconces x 2 (1240) down the corridor, pendant (1243) in the Guest Bathroom and the same pendants (1243) x 2 over the Dining Room table - all of which are the bigger version with 3 lights in the urns. All in Polished Silver. Just to make the rooms flow and because they are really pretty. The rest of the main floor is Starfire Crystal - the Empire Collection (a bit cheaper than the Schonbeks but still beautiful when lit) - Empire Chandeliers 7124 x 2 (Main Entrance and Nook Area underneath a ceiling dome), 7121 in the living room tray, 3112S in the upstairs hallway and Schonbek Petite Crystal Deluxe (5892) Sconces x 2 in the sunroom. The Upstairs bathroom is a Schonbek Sterling (2999) in polished silver with Spectra Crystal. The Hallway going upstairs (beside a black quartz open staircase) are Kuzco Crystal (WS7812) which are spectacular when they are lit x 2 that are hung vertically on the wall - husband picked these ones out! I think there is never too much crystal :) We have a small house so I did not want too many different styles going on. I have about 100 light bulbs though - all on dimmers!

Love crystal too - I'm sure it looks amazing. :)

We actually had a few projects which we used two large chandeliers over a kitchen island, and it came out really beautiful.

Another option is a long multi pendant chandelier over the kitchen island. it spreads the light over the whole island and make a statement in the kitchen.

I’m building a very contemporary modern house I had a very French interior design feel before So lots of traditional crystal chandelier lighting which I absolutely loved Over my island I had a 54” diameter, single tier, 16 arm Maria Teresa chandelier from 1800’s It was clearly the jewelry, as they say, in the room I’m trying to to a crystal chandelier over the 54”x110” island in this very modern kitchen It’s a high ceilings of 12 feet U-shaped kitchen Island has a sink only Across island are large windows above Wolfe stove Otherside of island is great room Other side is a kitchen nook with surround windows almost to the floor ( 18”) again, will a round design chandelier work, I , too, wanted to do the Schonbeck Will this work in a contemporary kitchen Countertop is Blue Prime Quartzite, backsplash is Calcutta marble tile, 3”x8”
