Depends on where you are. Some places have one generation per year. Others two. These are VAST numbers of posts here about SVBs, and you'd do yourself a favor to do some research on them. You can prevent them with row covers, extract them surgically, pick eggs, or try to kill them with BT.

Agree. Nothing keeps you from replanting immediately but your location will determine if the SVB are done for the season or not. It will also determine if your season is long enough for a second planting or not.
